2015 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley
Winemaker Notes The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc showcases fragrant lime blossom, stone fruit and orange peel with tangy green apple, sumptuous lemon curd and juicy white peach. An opulent, textured mouthfeel with racy acidity frame a brightly focused wine with pleasing minerality and a lingering finish.
Winemaking Data Following early morning picking, grapes were held overnight in cold storage before pressing to barrel for native yeast fermentation. 2015 Sauvignon Blanc was aged for seven months in 35% new French oak puncheons and 65% one- to two-year-old French oak puncheons before bottling. The barrel coopers included Dargaud Jaegle, Billon, Damy and Ermitage. The lees were stirred during and after fermentation resulting in a richly layered, graceful wine with light oak influence
Vintage Notes The 2015 Napa Valley growing season experienced dry, mild winter and spring temperatures similar to the prior three growing seasons. The Sauvignon Blanc bud break was 50% complete by mid-March followed by an early period of bloom. May temperatures were cool, but August, September and October were consistently warm, creating conditions for one of the earliest harvests on record. Small berries and loose clusters of high-quality fruit led to intensely concentrated and floral characteristics in this vintage of Sauvignon Blanc.
