2020 Viognier, Napa Valley
Winemaker Notes The 2020 Viognier is elegant, yet approachably fresh with apricot, white flower and tropical aromas. A wine of rich, round mouthfeel with pleasing acidity and flavors of ripe citrus, stone fruit and a honeyed finish. Supple texture and flawless balance complete this sumptuous offering.
Winemaking Data Grapes were gently pressed cold to barrel for fermentation and aged for seven months in neutral French oak puncheons from coopers Dargaud Jaegle and Ermitage.
Vintage Notes In 2020, Viognier bud break was close to average. With a dry growing season, bloom, veraison and harvest dates were approximately a week earlier than normal. 2020 was marked by very little rain accumulation throughout the year leading to drought conditions and above average temperatures during the summer growing months and harvest. Lower yields produced fruit with excellent flavor, intensity, and acidity.
