2021 Viognier, Napa Valley
Winemaker Notes A classic nose of heady gardenia and spring blossoms emerge from the glass followed by ripe lemon, apricot, and a salty saline character throughout the lusciously textured palate. Fresh and focused with tangy acidity and a lingering uplifting finish.
Winemaking Data Grapes were gently pressed cold to barrel for fermentation and aged for seven months in neutral French oak puncheons from coopers Dargaud Jaegle and Ermitage.
Vintage Notes The 2021 vintage is marked as having exceptionally high quality for both red and white varietals. The 2021 Viognier bud break and bloom were similar to the 2020 season, both taking place slightly later than the five-year average. Veraison and harvest were within a few days of our five-year average with no heat spikes during the growing season. The long, mild growing season allowed for exceptional flavors and bright acidity to be captured at harvest.
